  • The purpose of code of ethics for long term care facility is to serve as a guide for the professional behavior of its members. In order to preserve the highest standards of care using ethical standards or integrity, ethical code of conduct are the foundation for the many long term care facility bases their organization principles.
  • It is the responsibility of every individual including top level management to lower level staff of the organization going against of conducts that are stated in the code of ethics.
  • The health care organization includes different areas and different field of specialty, most common are the emergency room and hospitals. When we thinks about the health care, the first thing which comes in to our mind is doctor's cabin, emergency room, nurses etc.Health care means diagnosis or prevention of the disease by health care professional or its facilities. Usually the patients gets the treatment from different health care organizations such as acute-care hospital, surgery center, behavioral health center, specialty hospital, long-term care facility and out-patient center . these different organizations have different way of approaches , ethical code of conduct and also way of running an organization.The code of conduct will contain some standards of behavior for the organizations, that may be between employee and employer and their professional relationship with the public.The code of conduct is very important for the health care employees because of depth of inside access , financial information, protected medical that organization employees are privy to, this makes all the employees of the health care organization needs to uphold the code of conduct.
  • The ethical obligations of the long term care facility includes, the proper use of medical document and records contained therein for reimbursement and quality purpose, the safety of patients privacy and secret information and also disclosure of the private details. Both computerized and hand written health records which contains many medical stories - this must be protected on behalf of the community served in the health care organization . This ethical obligations are paramount, regardless of the location or method of collection and protection of medical information. sensitive information needs special attention to prevent misuse of document.
  • In order to provide the high quality service or performance in the long term health care facility , the organizations has developed certain principles for guidance of the professions such as , In all professional relationship, practice with respect and compassion for the dignity of the people, with primary commitment to the resident, Trying to provide the healthy and safe environment and protect the rights of the residents, The administration which consistence with law and standards for pertaining community residential cares and nursing home, trying to enhance and promote the standards of profession by increasing the understanding and importance of health care and profession. The administrator is also responsible for maintaining the professional competence and keep on professional development through providing education
