discuss the view that ethics and law is the engine that drives professionalism in health care practice
There are various healthcare regulations and established law which controls the overall healthcare activities in the healthcare settings. There is FDA, CMS, CDC like health regulating agencies along with the laws like HHS and HIPPA which are the backbone of the healthcare practice. These laws are effectively implemented by the federal as well as state agencies ensuring the professionalism in the various healthcare setting. In closed coordination with such laws there are some medical ethics which add a supporting dimension of morality in making certain decisions. These ethics are the moral conduct not the rules which help to resolve certain conflicts in the working of the healthcare professionals and make an effective platform of working in the healthcare organizations in a team, focusing on the overall wellbeing of the patient.
Thus medical laws and ethics both are the essential component of healthcare system and thus act as engine that drives professionalism in health care practice
