what are the types of bad behavior that people with disability face in workplace? please explain each point and how they can overcome the misconduct in workplace.
Disability is an impairment that may be cognitive,developmental, intellectual, mental , physical.
Behaviours are complex collection of beliefs,feelings,values and disposition which charecterise the way one think or feel about certain people or situation. People's behaviour is a product of life experiences inclusding the relationship one build with the people around.
The disabled people are faceing with following bad behaviours in work place..
1.Lack of understanding of disabled needs. Most of the disabled have experiences a lack of understanding around their individual needs from other people.
2. Ignoring Disables or pretending not to see them.
3. Being awakward around disables.
4. Underestimate the potentiality or capacity.
5. Treating disables as a nuisance.
6. Expecting less from disables . Sympathetic towards their disability.
7. Lack of growth opportunity
8. Lack of opportunity in employee engagement activities like out door games.
9. Teasing by using their disability.
Public bad behaviour have an impact on the material and non material aspect of everyone'sliving standards and disabled people particular. so it is needs to change the behaviour of people in and around work place to bring disabled into main stream. Following steps helps to over come the misconduct in work place..
1. Educating employees about disability. The employees education could help tackle the discrimination and stigma associated with disability.
2. Making opportunities for everyday interactions. Getting to know some one disabled would make them feel more confident around disabled people.
3. Opportunities should replace the sympathy. Disabled people not required sympathy, they required opportuinity show their potentiality and capacity.
4.Making policy statements relation to non discrimination and inclusion of disabled people.
5. promoting equal opportunity for people with disabilitites.
