ANSWER :
DYSLEXIA is a very common learning disorder thats makes it difficult for the brain to process information especially letters and numbers. This disorder troubes the fluent learning and reading abilities but does not interfere with the intelligence of a child. The symptoms of dyslexia varies from one child to another, some of the symptoms may include troubles with skills such as accuracy in reading, decoding the words, constructing a sentence, reading a passage/comprehension, writing etc. Children with dyslexia tend to easily forget the spelling of a word or how it needs to be written or spoken.
The causes of Dyslexia differ in different cases. Some of the most common causes are Heredity, Genes, Brain differences (Brain Anatomy) but the root cause of this disorder is not known. Dyslexia can be tested by proper evaluation of the child and through testing some complex skills such as reading, writing and so on.
Children with dyslexia face a number of serious problems. Though, the symptoms and challenges may vary. Some of the basic and most common physical, social and cognitive changes that the children with this disorder often go through are as follows :
The children suffering from Dyslexia are not just weak in reading and writing skills or any other language impairment, but can also be physically challenged. The children with this disorder are usually physically different as compared to a normal child. They lack in physical coordination. Many children are noticed to have balance and posture difficulties. They are ususlly unabe to perform a task with full accuracy and speed.
Dyslexia brings in a lot of frustration along with it. Children with Dyslexia often get frustrated if they make a mistake. It is noticed that such children get easily frustrated and feel terrible if they are unable to meet people's expectiations from them. This feeling of frustartion often makes them less socially active. These children are socially immature and tend to have less social acceptance. They are not able to make friends easily, they may also feel awkward and never take an oppurtunity to read aloud in a class or any event due to their langauge impairments.
Dyslexia itself is a brain associated disorder and afftects the cognitive functions on a high percentage. The cognitive skills of a child suffering from this learning disorder may become too weak. Most of the cognitive skills of theses children is impaired such as the ability to write and read correctly and fluently, retaining memory, unable to differentiate between words. Their performance in cognitive skills assement is too low.
