Ethics is doing what ought to be done without hurting anyone. It’s to be practised by everyone no matter which field they belong to. Although the society has some written and unwritten ethical codes to be followed, each profession has its own written ethical code and preaching it would land people in deep trouble. Positive ethical behaviour at workplace include many factors such as working genuinely, not revealing company secrets, treating everyone with respect etc.
Ethical practice includes working genuinely for the company by coming on time, completing the tasks on time, reporting the manager promptly etc. If an employee keep saying excuse and delay his part of the job, the employee is unethical. Another important thing is that the employee shouldn’t get involved in grape wine communication thus spreading rumours and gossips all the time.
Sometimes, the competitor might try to pull an employee of the organisation with money and position in exchange of the company’s secrets. The employee shouldn’t reveal anything in that case because honesty is the best policy but integrity is exhibiting it all the times and even at times of crisis.
An employee at workplace should treat everyone with respect. They shouldn’t discriminate anyone for any reason. This practice of equality is considered to be the highest form of ethics. It’s about collaborating, coordinating and communicating with everyone that makes the workplace more ethical and practical.
