Describe an instance in your career when, because of a lack of emotional intelligence, you created barriers to effective communication in a workplace situation.
An inability to manage your own and others emotions indicates a lack of emotional intelligence.
Would like to share an instance happened when a subordinate has been alloted work was not carried out properly on time. Therefore Anger became a barrier inspite of effective communication. Anger makes you less logical. It actually affects the way your brain processes information. You are less likely to solve problems effectively, and you are more likely to reject explanations and solutions from others. ( even when they are right). Anger tends to cause a strong reaction from those around us. Whether the person you are directing your anger at ends up feeling hurt, scared or defensive ending up non productively as it could have.
