(Answer) During the time of the industrial revolution, the very structure of markets around the world seemed to rapidly change. The rise of mass production meant that goods could be produced cheaply, quickly, in bulk and meet the demands of the populace.
Since there was great revenue to be earned in production, there was a rise in industrialization. This rise meant that there were more jobs in the cities than in the rural areas of agro-based production.
Workers fled to the cities and formed metros in these hubs of factories and industries. This came to be known as “urbanization.” Urbanization was not only because of an occupation but, also because of a way of life. More demand meant more supply and more supply meant more jobs. This is when the standard of living began to increase and it was no longer that the bourgeoisie or the “owners” of the society had the potential to make money.
This is why urban areas are full of the proletariats who have earned their wealth through their work and not their inheritance. Since this was the status quo, it became an ideology that status was not dependent on ownership but on the merit and potential to work that one had. This gave rise to the respectable working population which was the driving force of the economic status of the American family. This is how urbanization changed the dynamics of the typical American family.
