In United States every family is different; and they have different structures, and different goals and hopes; and faces different challenges. Some of the common challenges families face includes things like divorce or separation, parenting issues, moving house, unemployment, work pressure, academic issues, financial problems, death of a family member, disability or illness of a family member, alcohol, gambling addiction, drug, and domestic violence. A challenge or problem in one aspect of our life can also affect other parts. Few challenges can drain a lot of the energy and coping resources.
I am also facing few challenges in my personal life. In today’s household, it’s common that both parents are working. Although it supports your finances, however puts a strain on the family life. With office work, kid's schoolwork, household chores, social events, and extracurricular activities it is very hard to find a healthy balance especially when the partner is alcoholic and non-supportive. It brings distressing to all members of the family. Since we both are working outside the home and have less time for each other thus make it harder to deal with marriage problems. Due to an unhealthy environment at home I have noticed behavioral problems in my nine year old son. The stressful marriages can impair physical and mental health and it is in my case too.
