What is wellness and what are its five dimension?

Please elaborate the definition and wellness and specify things that needs to be done in order to improve each dimensions.

What is Wellness? 

When we say wellness, it is a wide idea. In this guide, we will do our best to provide a wide, but still in a specific manner about what does wellness really mean. Wellness is more about being healthy in different dimensions of our lives which includes the emotional, physical, occupational, intellectual, financial, social, environmental, and spiritual. all of these dimensions are associate. We also identify that all of us live in a inclusive world and wellness surrounds the aspects that may not be defined well in this study. We tend to accept the opinion, for instance, that trauma is considered as a general human experience and our culture as well as spiritual values may have an effect in terms of our point of views.  

To sum up, wellness is more on about how we live our individual lives and the satisfaction we experience. For instance, when we feel worry about money such as debt or other financial problem, we now feel experience the anxiety which can definitely lead to the emotional dimension. As a result, this can lead to medical issues that is called physical dimension, and difficult at work which is known as the occupational dimension. If this kind of situation happens, then we can now sometimes as question to ourselves and seeks its meaning, which can lead to spiritual 

 

What are the Five dimensions of Wellness? 

• Physical 

• Mental and Emotional 

• Intellectual 

• Social 

• Spiritual 

 

1. Physical  

Physical dimension of wellness is more on the health of an individual that includes the action of influencing others to do some activities that can help them enhance their endurance, flexibility and strength, and teaching them some information about food and nutrition for them to avoid it. Aside from that, this dimension helps people to avoid the tolerance of tobacco, drugs and excessive alcohol consumption in order to have a healthy mind and soul wellbeingIn order to improve this dimension, I will conduct exercises, use the stairs rather than using the elevator, obtain enough sleep, avoid stress, eat breakfast. 

  

2. Emotional 

Emotional dimension of wellness is more on the emotions of an individual that includes the acknowledgement and acceptance of an individual's feelings such as happiness, hope, love, joy, sadness, and many more. This kind of dimension surrounds optimism, self-esteem, and self-acceptance in order to handle different feelings and enhance the capability to endure it effectively against stress. Emotional wellness involves broad range of feelings that are important to wellness. It is essential to accept some challenges, take risks, and determine conflict because this will train us to handle life in different waysIn order to improve this dimension, I will handle my thoughts and feelings, encourage a positive attitude, seek support, if necessary, obtain management skills, and practice some stress management skills so that you can't be easily feel down. 

  

3. Intellectual 

Intellectual dimension of wellness motivates us to be more creative in terms of mental activities. This dimension trains us how to broaden our knowledge for us to identify more skills. It teaches us that our intelligence must always exercise together with the body so that we can determine some issues that are linked to problem solving, critical thinking, and alteration to change. Intellectual dimension is more focus in spending more time in pushing some personal interests such as reading books, magazines, and newspapers, while being fully aware about the present events. Through this dimension, it helps us to open our mind to new ideas that can be utilized in terms of creating decisions, interactions, and even community involvement. In order to improve this dimension, I will conduct some workshop, learn some different language. learn how to give appreciation to art. 

  

4. Social 

Social dimension of wellness motivates us to connect with other people. In this dimension, this helps us to develop and maintain solid relationships with family, friends who create contributions to social wellness. It empowers us to be more conscious of our essence in society since it teaches us that it is essential to keep connected to people, build new relationships and engage in different social activities. Through this, it influences us to have a healthy living ang start with a better communication with others, show respect with others, as well as other cultures. In order to improve this dimension, I will engage in other community activities, communicate my thoughts to others, share my skills, create solid relationships with others. 

  

5. Spiritual 

Spiritual dimension of wellness empowers us to explore the meaning and purpose of our existence. This involves the establishment of appreciation for our life as well as the natural resources that lives in this world. In this dimension, this teaches us to develop peace and harmony that will help us develop the essence of our existence. In order to improve this dimension, I will discover my spiritual core, spend time with myself, appreciate everything. 


Each of us has our own path. Each area of wellness can have an impact on a person’s life. That’s why, actively working all of them is a great objective because wellness connects straightly to the quality of every individual’s life. This guide provides a broad study about the five dimensions, the things that we can do at our own page and time, and within our own potential which can definitely help us feel better.
