What are the similarities and differences between the 8 dimension of wellness and the Philosophies of the ancient greeks, Ayurvedic medicine, Tibetan medicine, and traditional Chinese medicine?
The ancient greeks believed that a person develops disease because he is out of synchronization with the nature. So their treatment was based on restoring the balance between the patient and the environment surrounding him by implying emotional, environmental, and spiritual dimensions of wellness
Ayurvedic medicine uses herbal compounds and specific diets and hence uses just the physical dimension of wellness.
Budhhist principles dominate in tibetian medicine which is more philosophical and psychological. The treatment is thus more about mind control, meditation, chanting, positive energy to bring back harmony and balance. Hence they use emotional, intellectual, physical, and spiritual dimensions of wellness.
Traditional chinese medicine is an overlap of the tibetian and ayurvedic medicine wherein they use both herbal medicines and psychological aspects. This medicine practice uses emotional, physical, and spiritual dimensions of wellness.
