How do you feel about potential employers searching your social media profile? What about current employers? Do you feel that employers have a right to consider this information in hiring and firing decisions?
If you knew an employer engaged in this practice would still want to work for thier company? Why or why not?
Answer.
In these days, every employer try to get some social information about the interested employees, or when they search for talented person through their social media profiles. I feel that they do this search to know how the candidate is, whether he is socially active, what currently he is doing, and his achievements. Current employers may keep an eye on the employee profiles on social media to simply know their behaviour. I don't feel that these information must be solely considered for hiring or firing decision. Because, emoloyers need not judge a candidate based on his social media activities. It is his or her personal thing. I would not work for such organisations, because I do value my personal life and I can't really feel that my social media profile can be considered for hiring or firing decision. It is my performance record, my expertise and experience that matters to be taken into account for analysing my employability.
