Empowerment and participation plays a important role in motivating the employees as by making employees participate in the decision making process which is likely to impact them, employees feel important and have a voice in the process, which can lead to showing more commitment towards the company as well as their work, it also reduce the retention rate.

While Empowerment process involves manager's allowing the employees to set their own work goals, encouraging creative thinking to solve the work related issues and not micromanaging the work. It also promote the skill enhancement and career advancement for the employees.

Due to empowerment and participation, resistance to change can be overcome as it works as a motivator, where awareness regarding the change is conveyed to the employees, as they have say in the decision making process they are less resistance to change while try to involve in the problem solving and improving the workplace. Leadership style too plays a vital role here, as leaders motivate the employees to cope with the change
