Robert Sternberg -Triarchic theory of intelligence - his theory is involved around three factors such as analytic intelligence - problem solving, creative intelligence - capacity to deal with situation using past and current experiences, practical intelligence - ability to adjust,adapt with the situation. This theory was developed in 1980, acc to Sternberg intelligence is complex and very deep factor rather than simple definition. Component intelligence was also refered as analytical intelligence, these people are more able to think abstractly. They are able to compare, contrast, question, judge, evaluate things. Creative intelligence is also known as experimental intelligence - it is people's ability to invent new solutions by using their past knowledge. It is further divided into 2 different categories such as Novelty - it is ability to deal with problem for the first time and Automation - to automatically perform the repeated tasks. Practical intelligence is also referred to as contextual intelligence.- It is the ability of a person to adjust with new situations such as dealing with everyday tasks. It involves tasks with lot of common sense. It involves process of adapting and modifying environment in order to accomplish the goal. It is mostly associated with wisdom, they seem to combine unrelated facts to ideas.Intelligence is grasping of information, skills. and applying it. There are various theories of measuring intelligence. Acc. to me there can single subject or skill set in which a person can excel beyond anybody's imagination. These skill sets may be different eg verbal - linguistics, analytical - numerical, critical or logical thinking, creative or artistic thinking. This intelligence is usually measured through tests . These are known as Intelligence Quotient (coined by Alfred Binnet) test. There are various tests which measure intelligence. One of the current popular test is developed by Sternberg test.
