Describe thinking, intelligence, and creativity. How are thinking, intelligence, and creativity related? Does one’s creativity illustrate anything about his or her thinking processes or level of intelligence? Why or why not? Your response must be at least 300 words.
Thinking is merely the cognitive aspect of mind.
Intelligence is defined as ability to think logically act rationally and purposefully and determined by IQ
Creativity has many definitions and can generally be defined as the act of turning new and imaginative ideas into reality.
The componential model of creativity states that 3 components within the individual are needed for creativity
1. Knowledge i.e domain relevant skills
2. Creative Thinking i.e an inherent abililty to think differently dependent on personality traits
3. Motivation or interest in the work itself.
Also threshold hypothesis for link between creativity and intelligence suggests that Creativity may only increase upto an IQ of 120 and after that it has no correlation. There are also studies that say that even Autistic or Intellectually Disabled individuals may be More creative than normal individuals and may become famous artists.
