M11. Discussion: Avoiding Plagiarism in Reports |
Chapter 11, Section 11-6b, Critical Thinking: Exercise 4 |
p. 426 |
Plagiarism is one of the biggest ethical and illegal offense in academics. It is a punishable crime in which a person steals work of another person and use it as their own so we need to avoid plagiarism at any cost. If we use work from another source then we need to properly cite the source and document that in our business report. I would use APA reference style to cite and document my sources in a business report.
APA style is most widely used writing and formatting style for academics. Under this method, we do in text citation. In text citation done by use of author name and year of publication like this (Jones,2018).
Now report a complete reference entry, we use format like the author, year, title of the report, and the publisher.
All the references are documented on seperate page of business report called bibliography. This is the way in which we create a list of all the sources we used in our business report so that reader can verify the sources and our work is supported by credible sources.
