p. 382 |
Note from Prof. Kunzman:
From the background of a discussion, the topic is to persuade your classmates. In order to persuade the classmates using the techniques, it’s important to maintain the leadership skills, give space to influence an audience, give the full performance, use connected evidence, and speak with the emotions. It is crucial to persuade the classmates and it helps to shape the message to gain other acceptance.
The AIDA model represents for attention, interest, desire, and action. The model is essential to connect or persuade others, especially for persuading the classmates. The AIDA model helps to attain attention, create more desire, maintain the interest level, and take adequate action. Below are the example, or the persuasive message for the classmate that addresses certain questions or a strategy used for convincing the classmate.
Message - Discussion
My biggest strategy is to convince my other classmates and that my problem is to simply or naturally tell them the real facts. Because I actually do consider them and believe that the same is a massive problem or trend in the world, I cannot help this but think my classmates who are the same as me, or likeminded to me will also believe it in the same way. I will solely present to them the facts about poverty, and how many people in the world live in poverty, where the impact of poverty is located geographically, demographically, and what exactly the poverty is. I will also present to them why this term poverty has such a bad problem or deep impacts in society. Considering the same, poverty is such a worst problem in the world today and because to an individual, it projects or presents its own terrible problems such as hunger, undernourishment, depression, lack of resources, lack of education, and homelessness. It can also represent through present many problems or issues to people on the collective aspect of many things, because some people are poor by the beginning, and it leads to other connection of problems that affect those who aren’t even poor at first, these problems include theft, crime, a poor economy, lack of funds in government budgets, government assistance is necessary, and bad distribution of resources.
I will always try to project or present a touching appeal to my classmates on why they must be incredibly concerned about the term poverty. Because, poverty can affect anyone, everyone, regardless of their color, age, race, or sex. I think the people will respond to an emotional appeal more, rather than stubborn facts. Because they will always think “What if I were in this situation today?”
Conclusion
In the above message, the statement is connected using the AIDA model. The classmates are curious to connect with the issue through the issues, concerns, hopes, and self-relation to the subject. The topic effectively connected towards the model and stands for attention, interest, desire, and action.
