Globalization has opened the boundaries of countries which has led foreign companies open up their branches or offices in the host country. The businesses are flourishing with local labor and local talent being used at a cheaper rate adding to profitability and productivity. This has also led to inter mingling of different religions and followers of different faiths with each other.
Many people have put forth their view that religion has an important role in modern business transformation. One of the example that is cited is of Japan where religion led them to overcome the tragedies of the war and Tsunami to have a robust and successful economy in the world.
Considering historical aspects of western world where Christianity led to development. However it is very important to understand that it is not only religion which is developing nations rather it is the talent of the people which is based on the qualification for a particular job due to education.
Religion becomes personal and there are different religions in the world like Christians, Islam, Hindu, Jew, Buddhist etc however being religious makes one disciplined and makes him / her imbibe moral learnings and not skills that is required to perform a particular job. It is the education that provides the basic knowledge which leads to qualification for the job. Here religion can motivate an individual to perform the assigned duty in a way that the task is completed even if it was tough and required patience but it is purley an individualistic characteristic.
Companies venturing to other countries do have a responsibility to respect the religion and culture of the host country which any educated person would do even if he/she is an atheist and has nothing to do with religion rather it is respect for human and hi/her belief.
Thus someone working in a gulf country is there to earn and not impose his/her religion or brag about religion or attack because of different faith however to earn he must respect the culture and abide by the rules of the land.
