Solutions

Expert Solution

Answer: The following are the responsibilities of the leader in the lead by example approach

  1. Walk the talk: It is the first responsibility of such leaders to themselves do the things that they want their followers to do. For example if they want others to share their knowledge and experience with others then they should first share their experience and knowledge with them
  2. Take ownership: A leader should not expect others to take ownership of a change unless they take ownership themselves. For example if a leader wants a follower to take risk by divulging his skills to others then he should also take ownership of doing this
  3. Listen to the views of others: The leaders should not just communicate their own thoughts with the followers about the expectations but they should also listen to what others expect
  4. Give freedom: It is not just enough for the leader to show the followers what has to be done just by acting as an example. The leaders also need to give freedom to the followers that they enjoy themselves while accomplishing tasks
