INTRODUCTION :- Discrete trial training is one of the prominent method for teaching such children who are being diagnosed with Autism. It involves specific procedure which is followed by particular steps that helps the therapist to make the child certain new things in his life.Every step has their own significance. One of the important aspect of these type of training is that it provides the child with a reward, every time they comes up with the positive answer.

DESCRIBE HOW A THERAPIST WHO IS USING DISCRETE TRIAL TRAINING TO ENHANCE VERBAL PRODUCTION MIGHT PROMPT A CHILD TO ASK A QUESTION.

As Discrete Trial Training involves certain process in order to make child learn something which he is unaware of,thus the as the process starts, the therapist makes a cue in which he tries to learn the fact that child knows the meaning of what and any other such questioning word,so that he he can further makes these words in use,in order to ask a question. He makes him know the meaning of those words, and shows him some hand gesture to interpret its meaning.

In the second process, the therapist use his hand gesture as a prompt either in full way or sometimes merely showing the start of movement of so that the child can get hint.Further he present some new thing in front of child, which he is not aware of,so that he can ask about what it actually is?.But before that therapist will make sure that he will provide the prompt of hand gesture of child and instantly asks what that thing is?So that the child could lean that particular behavior.Further when in the process the therapist come up with the prompt and,and the child asks the question instantly, then the child is being provided with some kind of reward,so that he may repeat the behavior further in future.

So,certainly the third process will be the continuation of learning with the help of reward every single time the child asks the question, mas he was being taught.

The fourth process involves only at those time when the response provided by the child is not right. In such ondition the therapist helps the child to learn the correct answer, but in such condition the child is devoid of any reward, even though the child learns the correct thing, yet the reward is being missed in this condition.

And lastly in order to ensure that the child has learn to ask question,he will be left for some period without any training. But after sometime he will be re examined that the child has learned the behavior of asking question appropriately or not.
