The code of conduct & ethical principles are the ethics that sketch the responsibilites of a psychologist. They set up the permanant basis of behaviour & the actions which are considered to be acceptable ot not acceptable for the practice of the psychologist.'bascally ethical principles areAS follows: A) Beneficence & non maleficence B) Fidelity & responsibility C) Integrity D) Justice E) Respect for the people's rights & diginity F)Resolving ethical issues G) Human relations. The laws are rules of conduct established by the authorities that is enforced by the entity , the underlying philosophy of the law law is called Jurisprudence In U.S the laws are estabilished & enforced by federal , state, county & the local governments. The American psychological Association (APA) was adopeted bynthe council of Representatives . " “The Ethics Code is intended to provide guidance for psychologists and standards of professional conduct that can be applied by the APA and by other bodies that choose to adopt them.”
“The Ethics Code is not intended to be a basis of civil liability. Whether a psychologist has violated the Ethics Code standards does not by itself determine whether the psychologist is legally liable in a court action, whether a contract is enforceable, or whether other legal consequences occur.”
The code provides further clarification in section 1.02, Conflicts Between Ethics and Law, Regulations, or Other Governing Legal Authority:
If psychologists’ ethical responsibilities conflict with law, regulations, or other governing legal authority, psychologists can make their known commitment to the Ethics Code and take steps to resolve the conflict. If the conflict is unresolvable, psychologists may adhere to the requirements of the law, regulations, or other governing legal authority.
ANS B) Issues influences psychology ethics from an objective perpective may be as follows :
1) To Make a commitment to do what is ethically appropriate.
2) To be familar with the APA Eethical code .
3) To consult law professional for the revelent guidelines to handle the situation ,if any.
5) Generate & evaluate the alternatives.
6) Monitor & evaluate the effectiveness of the course of action.
7) Modify & continue to evaluate the plans as necessary & of the requirement.
Therfore before taking any step , the psychologist should prepare themselves to deal with its sound values.
ANS C) The issues influences psychology ethics from a subjective perpective :
The five main perspectives in psychology are 1) Biological, : IHere biopsychologist see that how nervous system,hormones & genetic make up effect the behaviour , explore the connection between the mental state & the brain, & how the thoughts , moods & actions are shaped.2) Psychodynamic,: Here it is believed that many impulses are driven bysex .It is also belived that the unconscious drives & experiencesfrom from childhood of the behaviour 3) Behavioral approach: That external enviromental stimuli influence the behaviour& can be trained to act in certain ways The behavioral is effective when we do not care that what some thinks ,as long as we desire the behaviour. 4) Cognitive approach :Here it is belived that behaviour is determined by the expectations& emotions. we remember things based on what we already know& solve problems on the memory of past experiences. 5) Humanistic approach : Here we are motivated to realize the potential & how we can feel good about one self by fulfilling the needs & the goals Humanistic approach works on individual empowerment & is motivated to be the best persons you can be.All choices come from trying to improve our life.
ANS 4) The current psychology ethics , belief system areses from epistemic, external& relational motives to reduce uncertanity , threat & social discord . According to some ideologies that came forward are conservative , religious , & legitimizing of the status Here we focus on many factors as a) prioritize values of conformity & traditions.
