in your own words, how might a sex therapist put a person or couple more at ease during the first visit? What could the person or couple do to become more comfortable during this visit?

A sex therepist is someone who handles and deals with problems about sexual functioning dissability when there is no medical problem or condition present. Sometimes talking to another person about sex related issues is not very comforting or pleasing. It can be so humiliating to some people that they do no ask anyone about it at all. Therefore it is important for the sex therapist to ensure that the person or the couple feels at ease and comfortable especially during the first visit. Some of the ways that a therepist can do so is:

• Explain once again as to what exactly he /she does so that there is a better understanding.
• express to the couple or person that it is normal andthey are not alone in it but many people go throughtthe same problems.
• tell them about the confidentiality present within that group and the secrecy involved in it.
• the fastest way to recovery is openness to situation and the more open a person is the faster a solution can be identified.
• the first step to solving the problem is actually taking the step to visit the therepist and hence they are already started on the process.

Although it is the duty of the therepist to ensure that the clients are comfortable it is also the responsibilty of the couple or the person to prepare themselves. Some of the ways they can make themselves more comfortable are:

• if they are going as a couple they can talk about it and what they feel so that they feel they are together in this circumstance.
• they must be able to completely express themselves to ensure they are able to achieve what they want at the end of it.
• explain the entire situation to the therepist and hold nothing back as it would effect them in the end
• in the end understand that when you need help with something you just need help and we must do anything we can do solve the issue and go for it putting all fears aside.
