Cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) refers to a therapy in which we can manage our issues and problems by changing the behaviour and thinking pattern. Mainly depression and anxiety are treated with this therapy. It is also helpful in various mental disorders.

John Stuart mill, Albert Ellis, Hoffman are the notable psychologist that influenced cognitive behaviour therapy.

The main purpose of behavioural theory is to developed and supports the desirable and wanted behaviour. It is based on the principles of behaviourism.

Behaviourism school of thought believed in the concept that humans learn from our environment.

In behavioural theory concepts and ideas of operant conditioning and classical conditioning are used. It is action based therapy.

It mainly focused on the idea that if older behaviour can create the problem then developing new behaviour can eliminate the unwanted and maladaptive behaviour.
