Briefly discuss depression. Compare and contrast 2 psychological perspectives ( psychodynamic, humanistic, cognitive, behavioral, social learning or sociocultural) with regard to cause and treatment of depression. Be as specific as to how each perspective is similar and different in how they regard the particular. Do not just describe the perspectives.

ANS- DEPRESSION- A mood disorder. A person has a feeling of sadness, anger, loss that becomes problematic in a person's life and interfere with daily activities. Their productivity becomes low, their relationship gets affected, their health gets affected. It is a serious medical condition and can become worse if proper treatment will not be given.

SYMPTOMS- Anger, sadness, loss of interest, lack of sexual performance, not able to sleep, headache, irritation, withdrawal from everyone.

CAUSES- Family history, trauma faced in childhood, the structure of the brain, some medical conditions, use of drugs.

MEDICATION- Antidepressants, antipsychotic, antianxiety.

PSYCHODYNAMIC PERSPECTIVE OF DEPRESSION- Depression due to loss of a parent or a close one or rejection by parents or by the close one. A grief due to the loss of an important individual of an individual's life.

COGNITIVE PERSPECTIVE OF DEPRESSION- It puts stress on the beliefs of an individual rather than the behavior of an individual. A negative bias happens in the thinking process of an individual.
