Expert Solution

  1. Society had only two genders earlier that related to the two sexes, male and female. Any other gender was condemned and religions offered severe punishment. Today, the scenario has changed as individualistic societies have opened the doors for other genders after long struggle. The trend is very common that whatever changes come in the individualistic society also spread across the whole world over a period of time. So the LGBT along with the Male and Female genders is a social construction. There is no limit to the argument because as the society grew, the understanding about the social construction of gender, race etc. changed.
  1. A. Race is one of the worst problems the society faces even today. This is very similar to the caste system in India where the social hierarchy is built based on the profession. In western countries, it’s the problem of color and ethnicity. For example, the Germans were more prone to the ethnic superiority and involved in ethnic cleansing. In America, it was slavery that haunted the African Americans for centuries.
  2. Diglossia means variety in language that separates people. If we look at the English Literature, until William Wordsworth in the Victorian region, there was official English and Common man’s English. So, literary works were created in king’s or Queen’s English which was considered to be high and common people had less official colloquial language. This definitely created two classes, high and low. In Arabic countries there is a higher version of Arabic spoken by the high class and low level or colloquial version spoken by the nomadic.
