As compared to a straight person, lesbians must go through certain amount of hardship to get better healthcare. Due to their orientation, a healthcare professional might end up asking questions that might be a little off. The stigma and discrimination associated with same relationship is a reason why many lesbian couples often face problems from the society.
· The health care problems are accessed in limited understanding due to their sexual orientation and hence they are more prone to mental problems like depression and anxiety. It is found that in many instances the lesbians are even prone to cardiovascular diseases and conditions. But, it is deep rooted more into the social stigma associated with the same which means a lot of people are not comfortable accepting that they are lesbian in the society and physicians also find it difficult to inquire the same.
· There is generally lack of knowledge when it comes to understanding more about the lesbian couples and the kind of illness they might be suffering from. Hence, precisely lack of knowledge is another reason why it is difficult to provide the right healthcare treatment.
· Another impact is that there is problem in providing health insurance for lesbian couples and this is a major drawback.
Healthcare issues that physically challenged woman suffer from are: -
· Improper access to facilities is one of the major challenges that physically challenged woman suffers from. There are many healthcare places which do not have proper facilities and lack of these tends to cause the problems.
· Another problem is with insurance because the insurance is very expensive or else due to the disability the insurance will not be provided.
