Electronic Health Record( EHR) is one of the burning issue for American health care organizations. In this information technology intiatives, two important aspects are basic EHR adoption and certified EHR adoption by the health care organization. Now , we shall discuss its major challenges:

1) Low Awareness level about EHR practices: People know very little about the major advantages from EHR . These softwares need to be learned by many employees so that this problem can be removed.

2) Dynamic changes in technology and medical science :

Software technology is getting new updates frequently which produces bottlenecks for its practitioners.

3) Lack of technical capabilities in workforce.

Still , American health care sector lacks competent people to handle best EHR implementation .

4) Patient's privacy and safety:

Some times , people say that EHR has a danger to loose critical information of patients and medical history as well . Which reduces the level of confidence among job holders.  

5) Lack of proper training to the employees working in the health care sector:

Organizations don't have proper facilities as well as policy guidelines to manage the EHR related trainings and development activities.

Initiatives to overcome these barriers:

US government should invest a lot to make more American aware about the benefits as well as utilization of EHR practices. Even , it must be adopted as a certification course . Hospital should open a special cell which monitors EHR implementation and overall software installation to data management.
