1. How do you keep Compensation fair? 2. How do you keep employees motivated? Should we increase salaries when an employee complains? 3. How should managers handle a no raise? 4. What role does the government play in maintaining equity and fairness?
Answer- 1) To keep compensation fair, I pay according to the work done and also according to the academic qualifications combined. A person should be only paid according to the hard work that he puts in and not on the basis of his gender, caste etc.
2) To keep the employees, I give them good work environment and a less hectic environment. Also, I make sure that there is a good investment in developing the skills of employees. The organization should provide a work-life balance to employees.
Salaries should not always be increased when an employee complains because then an employee will become habitual to it and would start complaining for every small matter. Salary should be increased only if there is some serious and genuine reason to it.
3) Managers should handle a no raise in the way that they should convince the employees about the raise in some future time. And they should assure the employees about the good and congenial work environment.
4) The government plays a big role in maintaining equity and fairness. The government has made various laws to maintain fairness in the pay. And government has also set a minimum limit on various salaries at various positions in the public sector organization. For private sector, there are laws which the companies have to abide by.
