Some of the major tools use in Six sigma process are as follows

  • DMAIC:- This is more of quality driven methodology useful in six sigma which is define, measure, analyse, improve and control of vaious activities.
  • 5S:- The 5S is a lean practice which primarily focus on the importance of being systematic. It includes sort, shine, set, standerdize and sustain.
  • Seven waste: This reduces the waste or non value added activities and making the process more operationally effective and quality oriented. The major types of waste includes waste due to motion, over processing, over production, waiting, transportation etc.
  • Value stream mapping: This is more of a visual representation which helps in understanding the various process steps and designing the process based on the value and non value added activities.
  • Voice of Customer:- This begins with more of kind of exploration and disocvery of customer needs. Creating a voice of customer table and identify the needs and work on those areas to optimize it.
