Solutions

Expert Solution

Answer- Gender inequality is a major issue of today's society. Gender inequality can be seen in the field of health, education, personal autonomy, employment, economic growth of a nation etc. The ratio of gender inequality is higher in poor countries rather than rich nations. Gender inequality affects the growth of the countries specially of developing countries. The impact of this inequality on the education system, economic growth of the country and on employment opportunities for men and women have been noticed by the researchers. The gender gaps in education and employment are responsible to reduce the economic growth of the country. It also reduces the average amount of human capital in a particular society and harms to economic development.

Educating a woman is equal to educating the whole family but despite the positive contribution of women in the development of the society, they do not get equal opportunities to be educated in various nations. Gender inequality has other adverse effects also like men are considered superior and women are their dependent. Mainly in rural areas, women do not receive equal opportunities to improve their living standards as men get. These societies are man based societies which differentiate between a man and woman on the basis of gender and do not provide them equality in the areas of health, employment, education, lifestyle as they provide to men. This discrimination against women is common all over the world, so the impacts of gender inequality are also worldwide.

Economic issues of a nation also work against the creation of egalitarianism between men and women because gender inequality plays an important role in the economic growth. Gender inequality is visible in economic inequality. Due to this, women and men have unequal access to the economic resources of a society. Men are considered as the head of the society and are provided more opportunities and benefits related to the economic growth of the country. But this is not true because women are equally capable to contribute for the economic development of a country. So, both men and women should be given equal opportunities in a society.
