How far do caste and gender constitute major dimensions of inequality in India? Discuss. Do you think economic inequality is increasing in India in the recent decade?
Inequality is the difference in any criteria among the group of same genus. If there is inequality, development will be well-reduced.
Gender inequality means the inequality between men and women. It is one of the major issues occur against development of a country. In the society, we can see the same is displayed in so many forms. This gender inequality considers women in a level below men. This is the main criteria which decides a women's life in many places. India ranks 101th position from among 136 countries. It is one of the main social discrepancy in India. The basic reason for the increased tendency of rapes and violence against women is the gender equality.Gender inequality is determined on the basis of several dimensions such as economy, education, health and political empowerment, personality, family life etc. Some of them are discussed below :

Education
Some girls with very weak financial background cannot have dream of become a good profession as per her wish due to the gender discrimination in the society , and even from her family.
Job
If we take major of worker wages, wages of men will always be greater than that of women in several places throughout India. The reason because , she is a women. And, this scenario can be seen mainly in rural areas. Hence, work participation of women can be seen very rarely in such areas.
Some surveys proved that if we consider the home making work of women, which is never paid, it will accumulate around an estimate of 16 lakh crores per annum. Even in this century also, there are some places in India where parents feel disturbed when the sex determination shows that they are going to have a girl child. To prevent this gender inequality, social attitude should be changed.
Caste inequality means the inequality among castes of people. Here, caste decides to a great extend, the lifestyle and job, identity etc. of a person. Around India, the caste inequality may differ, but the main reason for the economic inequality prevailing in India now is the caste inequality prevailing in Bihar. Scheduled Castes and Scheduled tribes are facing much issues. The major dimension of caste discrimination is income inequality among upper castes and lower castes.
Widening of economic inequality in today's India.
As if now, eventhough India is one of the well-developed country of India, still economic inequality issues are getting stronger. Rate of vegetables are rising day-by-day. For economic development, forests are being destroyed. Govt. takes some policies, but people can't question any of those policies even if India is a democratic country. Hospitals and pharmacies are enjoying the illness and diseases of people for improving their business and profits. Humanity is getting throwed out for the eagerness of money.
