IHRM(International Human Resource Management) is into the management of employees in the three-nation categories ie. The parent country, The host country, and The third country, whereas HRM(Human Resource Management) is involved with the management of the employees only in one country.
Three functions we would engage in managing the International human resource activities which we wouldn't engage in the domestic human resource are:
1> IHRM(International Human Resource Management) plays a key role in the achievement of a balance between the need for control and coordination of foreign subsidies and the need to adapt to the local environments, whereas HRM(Human Resource Management) role includes hiring people, retaining them, negotiating their salary and performance management.
2> The department of IHRM (International Human Resource Management) has to overcome culturally diverse differences in order to run a local parent country subsidy, whereas the department of HRM (Human Resource Management) does not have to deal with differences in culture since the majority of workers belong to the same social community.
3> IHRM(International Human Resource Management) brings with it a broader range of perspective as compared to HRM(Human Resource Management) where the perspective is narrow and more inclined towards the more domestic issues only.
