As part of the Project Scope Statement of a house construction project, prepare the detailed
Milestone Schedule (Baseline Milestone – Date) by arranging the following activity
items/milestones in a proper sequence from No. 1 to 15, assuming the first milestone date as 05-
01-2020 and the last as 30-09-2020. Assume the dates in between corresponding to the various
milestones which are given in no particular order: Foundation complete, Excavation complete,
Permits approved & construction begins, Contract signed, Design complete, Framing complete,
Roofing complete, Architectural design started, Final inspection and acceptance by Owners,

Interior finish, Exterior finish, Landscaping complete, HVAC system installed, Plumbing-
electrical-mechanical passed, Plumbing-electrical-mechanical installed.

Note: I'm not sure about excavation. It can be 2nd activity as below or 7th activity. Usually, during excavation soil testing, load bearing capacity of site is studied and building is designed accordingly. This step may vary country to country as per regulation. Also, few activities can be done simultaneously.

The very first thing will be contract signing between land owner and architect, engineers, labour contractor etc. Then excavation and land evaluation followed by design by architecture team. The Plumbing, electrical and Mechanical designs must be according to architectural design. If all are satisfied ie passed, design is completed. The next stage should be buoding foundation followed by framing and roofing. Once these are completed, plumbing, electrical and mechanical services must be installed. These services require cutout into walls, floor etc and thus interier and exterior finishing must be done only after satisfactory performance of plumbing, electrical, mechanical and HVAC services. General interior finishing and exterior finishing are done simultaneously. Landscaping is last finishing touch before final inspection and acceptance by owner.

Sr.No. Date Activity
1 5/1/2020 Contract signed
2 6/1/2020 Excavation started
3 10/1/2020 Architecture design started
4 10/2/2020 Plumbing-Electrical-Mechanical passed
5 20/2/2020 Design complete
6 25/2/2020 Permit approved and construction started
7 20/4/2020 Foundation complete
8 20/5/2020 Framing completed
9 20/6/2020 Roofing completed
10 30/6/2020 Plumbing-Electrical-Mechanical installed
11 30/7/2020 HVAC installed
12 30/8/2020 Interior finish
13 15/9/2020 Exterior finish
14 25/9/2020 Landscape complete
15 30/9/2020 Final inspection and acceptance by owner
