Project human resource management refers to the organizing and leading the project team. It involves identifying the right talents and skills for the project and capitalizing on the human resources accordingly. The process involved in project human resources management are-

- Identification of the roles and responsibilities- The roles are defined and the responsibilities are assigned for the roles. This involves determining the competency and authority of the roles. The individuals for the project team can be sourced either internally or externally to the organization. The project manager documents the roles in the Responsibility Assignment Matrix (RAM) via visual charts.

- Organization charts- The organization chart helps to identify the hierarchies both in the project and in the organization. The work break down structure (WBS) provides details of the different roles and responsibilities for each member in the project.

- Staffing and resourcing- This step helps to describe the plan of action to meet the needs of the human resources requirements. The project needs varies hence the plan can either be formal or informal. This is frequently updated and includes the below-

                - Acquisition of the staff- details the roles and the skill level required to fit these project roles.

                - Resource scheduling- details when the staffing process should start.

                - Release plan- details when the human resources will be released from the project.

                - Training and development- is required if the human resources needs to be trained on new skills and technologies.

                - Compliance- The human resources should be recruited in compliance with the government regulations.
