What difference would it make if the monitoring is disclosed to employees? What if company executives were monitored by the same system?
What difference would it make if the monitoring is disclosed to employees?
When the monitoring is disclosed to employees, then initially some employee may take it negatively as they may feel that they are closed under watch throughout the time of working. However, they must be assured that monitoring will only help them achieve their targets well and their supervisor will be available anytime to help them whenever they need. However, an efficient performance management system empowers the employees to monitor their own performance so that they can correct it themselves when they derail from the targets. This is what makes them a conscious employee and it is the job of the leader to make sure that they are managed in order to help them, not just to get the work done.
What if company executives were monitored by the same system?
If the company executives are monitored using the same system, then, in my opinion, it will create a sense of uniformity among all the employees and all the workers will work hard. When the employees have equal metrics or measurement of performance, then each employee performance will be measured under the same method. The system now created will make the firm uniform and all the employees will fall under the same performance umbrella.
