The feeding mechanism of the insects as a parasite is one of the most fascinating mechanism that is of fundumental importance for understnading host parasite relation.The example and explanation above indicates the fact that the use of the sucking mechanism only depended on the availability of an unusually nutritious food source.For eg: All male mosquitoes, and in a few genera the females also, feed only on the juices of plants. Even the normally blood-sucking females will feed efficiently in nature on a juicy watermelon rind.Even in the laboratory they can be kept alive for months on a diet of water-soaked raisins .Thus the mechanism of feeding is so unique that depending on the situation when there is a heavy demand of nutrient by them for mainly laying eggs,the same structure of sucking food may be used for a different food source without any modfications in it.
