The two major constraints in a construction project are time and resources. To control these constraints the project manager can take following actions:
For time constraints:
i) For a effective connstruction project good planning and then scheduling all work one by one according to planning is very much important. This will set a goal for the project team to finish the work within estimate time, because extra time can take extra cost for the project. They also can prepare Grant chart which is very helpful to visualize the timeline of the project.
ii) After scheduling, the project manager should monitor and control on allgoing works that the project is going according to planning and scheduling or not.
For resources constraint:
Resource is another main important constraint which is directly related ith money, resources mean mainly are goods and labours.
According to budget, you have the limiting amount of money to achieving the project which gives a restriction of using more resources in the project, because using more resources can complete the project on or before the deadline of project, but which can increase the budget, but during budget we have to sacrifice the amount of money for the essential resources which is needed for project ( as reasonable money cannot reduce the project delivery time).
