A balanced three-phase generator delivers 6.3 kW to a delta-connected load with impedance 13 - j23.4 Ω per phase. The magnitude of the line current ILis:
Given 3 phase delta connected load with per phase impedance 13-23.4j ohm
Total 3 phase power is 6.3KW
3 Vp * Ip * cos¢ = 6.3 KW
¢ is load angle can be calculated from load
13-23.4j
¢ = ( -23.4/ 13)
¢ = 300
Cos ¢ = cos 300 = 0.5
Therefore
Vp* Ip = (6.3/(3*0.5)) = 4.32 KVA ------ equation (1)
Also we know that
Per phase current Ip
= per phase volage ÷ per phase impedance
= 12.704amp
So magnitude of phase current is 12.704ampere.
