PATHOPHYSIOLOGY;An abnormal and specific alteration from the normal processes  in the body of all living things including human beings due to a disease or any physiological defect.

DISEASE; It is a state in which any unusual change in the body of all living things (external or internal changes ) linked with particular or non particular manifestations.

CHIKUNGUNYA; This is a viral infectious disease caused by mosquito bite. The symptoms usually starts within four  to 7 seven days after the mosquito bite.Disease is transmitted fromf infected female mosquito bite. Aedes aegypti and Aedes albopictus are the causative mosquitos,Primary sympoms are fever and joint pain.Followed by muscle pain, headache,oedematous joints and rashes all over the body.No specific treatment available so far.Only can provide symptomatic treatment.The mortality rate is very low.But most of the patients may experience severe joint pain for years. This disease is transmitted from human to human only by mosquito.So the diseased person should not be exposed to mosquitos.The diagnosis is done by antidody test.The pathophysiology ;The virus is reformed in epithelial and endothelial cells in human body.This virus replicate in fibroblasts,skeletal muscle progenitor cells and myofibers.The onset of disease virus seen in the affected areas,where as in joints. Later on the increased presence of virus in the body will lead to the accumulation of antigen . It will lead to chronic joint pain.More over the viral activity will enhance more cytokine and chemokine production .Due to this CRP level will be increased,indicates inflammation.
