In an health care organization what are the steps we will take for the below strategies.
Of the strategies of shared-site agreements, alternate sites,
hot sites, cold sites, and warm sites, identify which of these
recovery strategies is most appropriate for your selected scenario
and why.
For each testing method listed, briefly describe each method and
your rationale for why it will or will not be included in your DRP
test plan.
Ans) I believe that a hot site would be the best strategy for DRP.
As in most companies, the data is very important to keep them in business so a hot site is the most expensive, but it offers the most accurate updates, which are the closest to real time recovery options.
- A hot site would make a company feel more secure because it is the most precise to the original.
The following are the testing methods for DRP test plans:
1.Walk-throughs: A walk through is a meeting to go over specific steps of each component of the DRP. It helps confirm the usefulness of the plan & determines its weaknesses.
Its a review of the plan and components that should be kept current.
2.Simulations: This is where a team runs a simulation of a disaster. This test will allow the team to collect time trials to solve and fix issues and actions to be used if the attack or disaster spreads too far.
3.Checklists: The checklist is initiated to make sure the correct amount of data is stored if a backup is needed later on.
4. Parallel testing: This used to make sure the company’s system, and their strategy plan operate consistently & effectively.
