Think about how these types of situations might arise in your academic career. How does academic dishonesty undermine the purpose of graduate school?

Solutions

Expert Solution

A student joins a graduate school with the purpose to learn and gain specialised skills and knowledge into the specific subject. Through graduate school, the student wants to equip himself with the tools he requires to overcome the challenges in the real world. It is a stepping stone for him to achieve and reach the goals that he has set for himself.
Academic dishonesty is not only unethical but only cheats the student himself from various learning opportunities. At the end, it is the student who is more at a loss than the school itself, as he is deriving himself of the various lessons that he could have learnt, had he done the course honestly. A student who does not earn the graduate degree to fair means, would not be able to apply for jobs or go to interviews because he is lacking the basic knowledge. For such students, the degree is of the same value of an empty paper.
There are many forms of academic dishonesty. Some of them include plagarism, where they write off others works as their own, or submitting the same work again for credits which is not allowed, and even misuse of school property through stealing or unpermitted use of school property comes under academic dishonesty. A student must be up to the school's standards and follow all the rules and regulations so that he is on the right and just path for his future.
