  • Human behaviour is something which is determined by a combination of both nature and nurture.Nature refers to the human traits one gets biologically through their parents and cannot be altered or changed in any way. Nurture refers to the human traits one gets from the environment that they grew up in.
  • Eventhough we are born with certain physical and personality traits but it all gets influenced by the environment we live in and our surroundings.
  • A few examples of biologically determined characteristics (nature) include certain genetic diseases, eye color, hair color, and skin color. Other things like life expectancy and height have a strong biological component, but they are also influenced by environmental factors and lifestyle.
  • Some characteristics are tied to environmental influences. How a person behaves can be linked to influences such as parenting styles and learned experiences. For example, a child might learn through observation and reinforcement to say 'please' and 'thank you.' Another child might learn to behave aggressively by observing older children engage in violent behavior on the playground. This means that our nature is to nurture.
  • Parenting styles of nurturing is the major influence in all our lives determining who we become as adults. If children receive poor care, their innate capacity for caring may not be fully expressed; they may become uncaring parents, colleagues, citizens.
  • Kids nowadays receive much of their care from non-kin, whether babysitters or preschool teachers since both parents are working. Then there are all the children who grow up with only one or no parent or abusive parents. As a result, many kids suffer from disorganized attachment. The right amount of nurturance and care from parents is extremely for healthy development of the child.
