Explain Maslow’s hierarchy of needs. What does it tell us about employee motivation? Cite an example of what a company does to provide motivation for each of the levels within the hierarchy?
I believe having a diverse workforce is very valuable,as diversity is much needed in today's world. When in business you have people to be able to meet all needs which may require language, nationality, socioeconomic status, gender, religion, or sexual orientation. Is it a challenge for human resource managers yes.Having to learn and understand everyone's background and coming to an understanding with what works best for everyone to work together.I believe these challenges are overcome by open door policies and communication. If you are interviewing probably and knowing your teams weak and strong needs you are able to bring in the right fit to make everything balance in the work place.I also believe open door leaves room for employees and employers to discuss things properly without confrontation and understanding core values.
What is your reply about that post?
The employees working in the lower levels of the management pyramid, shall always have desires to accomplish the higher needs in the Organization. For this, the managers would have to understand the needs of the lower level employees and accordingly grant them motivators that can help them achieve their desires which must coincide with the general interests of the Management as well. In order to build strong relationships with employees, so that the employee’s self-actualization needs can be converted into facilitation of the achievement of Organizational goals, the Organization needs to work of a structure that encourages open communication across all the levels of the Organization. The drivers of the employee’s motivation to work hence needs to be identified well by the higher level authorities that can be efficiently achieved through open communication and open door policies practices exercised by the Organizations. The cultural differences of the employees must also be recognized and the organizational cultural should be designed in a manner that the employees feel comfortable to uniformly adapt the same, irrespective of the variations in their personal cultural norms, thereby making a common base for the Management to formulate such activities or policies in the Organization that can help the employees with the career growths, thereby aiding in the fulfillment of the employees’ desires according to the Maslow’s hierarchy of needs and thus being more productive to the Organization.
Note: It is assumed that the first part of the questions are attempted to be covered in the post itself and hence the second part of the question is dealt with, that is, our response to the above post.
