Need or the Desire is very important element in motivation because the employees get motivated only for there is needs and if the needs are fulfilled completely ithen it is not possible to motivate the employees maslow f has given a sequence of need in the following ways -

1) Physiological need - This need include basic requirement for survival and maintenance of life. The common physiological needs are food, shelter, clothing. the employees develop this needs for the survival so this and satisfied when the monetary incentives are offered by the employers.

Company provides monetary incentives like competitive salary, bonus etc for this level.

2) Safety and security need - once the physiological needs are fulfilled then the people start thinking about the future. They want to secure your future by making sure that in future their physiological logical need will be satisfied.

Company provides monetary incentives like Provident fund, health insurance for this level.

3) Social needs - it means the need for love, affection, companionship, friendship etc.

To fulfill the social needs manager preferred teamwork and arrange formal and informal get together so that employees can develop social relationship.

4) Esteem need - This need is related to respect and cognition these needs are more common in higher level employees.

Esteem needs can be satisfied through non monetary incentive such as giving certificate, appraise etc.

5). Self actualization need - This need refers to reaching to the aim of your life. Once the employee becomes what he wants he wants to become it mean satisfaction of actualization need.
