On what level of Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs would you place each of the following decisions and WHY: (a) buying health insurance, (b) going skiing, (c) following a low-fat diet?
The Maslow’s Hierarchy of needs anticipates that any particular individual will befocused in satisfactory of the needs which are ranked low in the hierarchy before aspiring tosatisfy the needs which are ranked above. The rank follows as; physiological needs, safety needs,social needs, prestige or esteem needs and lastly self-actualization needs.
Buying health insurance belongs to the level of safety needs. This is because when we take health insurance is safety assurance which covers any future unforeseen health and medical events. These events have no specific time to take place, therefore, buying health insurance covers one future risks.
Going skiing is a satisfaction of the self-actualization needs. This is because it gives one a chance in life where he or she can express himself what is able to achieve and is normally something which is very important according to the needs hierarchy so can be satisfied the last.
Lastly, following a low-fat diet, belongs to the level of psychological needs. This is because it helps one to remain and maintain a healthy lifestyle. But in another way, this can mean different case to the fat individual, they can try this in order to gain esteem needs and have abetter physical look and get a better social acceptance
