1. Name and define the needs at each level of Maslow’s hierarchy of needs, in order from lowest needs to highest needs. Describe a time in your (or a friend’s) life when (1) a “higher” motive had to wait until a “lower” motive was met, and (2) a “higher” motive occurred before a “lower” need was met.
Abraham Maslow developed hierarchy of need theory of human motivation in 1943. His theory consists of five stages of need in his initial version. The theory states that one must successfully complete the lower levels of needs inorder to progress to higher levels of needs. These five levels of needs are as follows
1) If an individual want to marry a person in a conventional manner, first, he/she has to build a home. (Safety needs must be met before attaining Belonging and love needs )
2) An accademically brialliant student gets full grades in his high school, eventhough he is coming from a slum area where there is no proper sanitisation, food, and shelter( Esteem needs met before basic needs and safety needs)
