Discussion Question:
Are all managers leaders at the same time? Why? and Are all leaders managers at the same time? Why?
All managers are leaders at the same time. Because most of the managers take their managerial position only after some years of experience in leadership. Though the roles of managers and leadership are different. The level of position changes from the lower level (leaders) to upper level (managers) therefore most of managers will get managerial position through leadership roles. Therefore all managers are leaders at the same time.
But, all leaders are not managers at the same time. As I said before, the roles of managers and leaders are different. In the business environment, level of position will not change from the upper level (managers) to lower level (leaders). Hence leaders will not have any managerial experience before going to managerial position and they are restricted for leadership roles. Therefore, all leaders are not managers at the same time.
