Immigration In April 2010, the state of Arizona passed one of the most stringent immigration laws in the nation. The law requires all immigrants to carry their immigration documents with them at all times, and it authorizes law enforcement officials to question and apprehend anyone they suspect of being an illegal immigrant. Individuals who are not carrying the appropriate papers will be at least detained, and local governments and police departments that do not comply with the order can be reprimanded. This law has drawn fire from critics including President Obama, who believes it undermines the basic idea of fairness that we hold as standard in the United States. The Obama administration challenged the law in court, but in 2012, the Supreme Court ruled that the law’s central provision, the requirement that law enforcement check the legal status of anyone suspected of being an illegal immigrant, was constitutional. It can be said that the United States is a nation of immigrants, based on our history. What are some reasons why people are so resistant to immigration despite this history? Elaborate on your peers’ posts with a well-thought-out, substantive comment that contributes new knowledge to the conversation.

Use application of Social Psychology on a problem or
issue.
Whatever the issue/problem identified, please be clear and concrete
defining it. For example, “climate change” is not a very
good topic. Instead, “recycling behaviors on campus” or “political
support for sustainable energy production” would be better. State
the problem and explain why it is a problem in 1-2 sentences. The
problem itself is not the main focus of the paper, however. Rather,
it should be a paper about how Social Psychology can (a) help one
understand a cause of problem, and (b) suggest a solution to the
problem.
Please write about how Social Psychology can (a) help one understand a cause of problem, and (b) suggest a solution to the problem. Focus on applying a small number (1 or 2) of Social Psychological principles to the issue with a complex, thoughtful analysis. The solution proposed should follow directly from the cause described.

There is probably no single person in the history of psychology more controversial than Sigmund Freud. Some argue that Freud is dead and good riddance; others counter that there has been a lasting impact of Freud's work and his writings. Where do you stand? Is Freud totally passé, or has he left a lasting mark on the fields of psychology and psychiatry? Justify your position.
