When discussing stage development theory, I feel it is important to note that with age may come adjustment even if the stages are accurate. We may have once had an ability that we can no longer perform due to the aging process but we can adjust while still providing insight to others.

For example, as my mother ages I see many things she can no longer do like she used to but she has adapted so that she can remain independent for as long as possible. For example, she lives in a split level home. She used to bound up and down the steps with several items in her hands. She can no longer “bound” to many places and she cannot go up and down the steps without holding on to the railing. She can still function, just at a slower pace and with some adjustments.

In instances where an individual is having difficulty accepting the aging process and does not want to make adjustments how might we address this in a loving way so as to help them be as productive as possible with daily tasks?

The Breton Woods agreement led to the global monetary system in use today. What did President Nixon do in 1971 that transformed the international monetary system? Explain how the modern global monetary system works. What does it mean when currencies “float” or are “pegged”? Give examples. Also provide an example and explanation for a case where the international monetary system contributed to political instability/unrest within a country.

Events and activities happen so fast that there is no time to think or evaluate correct courses of action. Time to meditate and evaluate and think circumspectly has been absorbed in social media communications, emails, and events.

Quality family time with loved ones and children are non existent in many homes. Rarely do families sit down for a family dinner and discuss the events of the day. Informational technology has deteriorated family structure and is a contributor to anti-social behavior in high school teens. This can lead to violent behaviors such as mass shootings within our primary and secondary schools.

Is there substantive data to support this theory? What historical precedent is there to guide how much families should rely on informational technology. What are your conclusions?
