Piaget theory of language development is based on idea that children do not think like adults. It tries to ecokaine the mental structures or “schemas” of children as they grow from infants to adults. He concluded that children actively construct their own understanding of the world by interacting with enviroment.
Piaget' suggests that children’s language reflects the development of their logical thinking and reasoning skills in stages, which is defined by age and other functions acquired.
In sensory motor stage , child language is egocentrism, I.e they talk for themselves or for those associated with them at any point of time.
Pre operation stage , chikdren learn to accomodateacthings from workdwaround her. She can form simple sentences .
But till this stage , there is animism and egocentrism.
Next two stages are concrete operational and formal operational. Their language now reflects logic and maturity.
At these stages child overcomes egocentrism and animism .
