Centration. It isthe tendency of children to focus only one one characteristic of a component. For example, the conservation is not properly oreinted in small children. When beakers are changed they will say the amount of water has chaged. That is they focus on the amount of water they see, and doesnt think like the size or volume of beaker is changed , not the amount of water. This lasts upto concrete operational stage. In preoperational stage it is a characteristic of children.
When adolescence is reached, individuas become more self conscious . Their thoughts are inthe way that, they are being noticed by everyone. Wherever they go, they have the thought that everyone is looking at them. They have bodily changes and those are new to them. They thus think like, as they are perplexed and attracted in themselves and their changes, all others around are also looking at them.
They often have the belief of an imaginary audience. They walk, talk and behave as if they are noticed by lots of people. They when enters a room, or sitting somewhere alone, they always have a thought that some audience is there watching them from somewhere. They assumes as if they are being watched and engage in attractive activities by their own.
They write in their diaries that their feelings are ubderstood by them obly, not even their parents. Thus make stories like something like a fantasy is happening in their life. They have this thought that only they know what they are undergoing, they doesnt have the awareness about this is just a stage and this happens in this stage. Thry take everything seriously and may sometimes worry like what they have watched in a movie or consider their life as something special and draft stories about it. The stories have fantasies and, its a characteristic of this age.
